For 15 years I have been studying the crime behavior and violence in our country, as a serious consequence of this that are traumas that afflict the victims of this violence.
At 1998, the Federal Government already alerted that were happening in Brazil a serious social illness, called violence, and it could not have cure. And now, we are watching the consequences of authority’s omission.
The Brazilian media, mainly the TV and radio, is only concerned in show the problem, without discuss the problem.
Some presenters say that the human being rights are only used to defend criminals. Actually, as being a president of Ethics Commission, Citizenship and
Human Rights Paulista Psychology Academy, I do not find space in this TV shows to show changes that we defend as necessary to reach its goals.
I assure that it is urgent, a radical change and immediate in the Brazilian Criminal
Code, in order to find solutions that reduce more problems related to lack of security that affects the society, seeing that the impunity grows the crimes.
One of the changes in the Criminal Code is the life sentence addoption for hideous crimes, as: pedophilia, kidnapping, homicides, thieveries, traffic of narcotics, organized crime and crimes from car accidents as driving drunk. All of this crimes should be penalized with a higher level by Brazilian justice.
Other fact considered important in reduce crimes is to follow the penalties imposed by law. There are many speculations that say the Police put in jail and the Justice gives freedom. In fact, the Judiciary judge according to the current laws, and then we need the National congress to solve this faster.
Other weak point in Penal Code is the preview punishment for underage population. This should be reviewed with urgency, because underage people that are delinquent and is dangerous are in a special prison specialized for then. In USA the underage involved in crimes are treated as over 21 people.
In Brazil, who uses underage in criminal participation should have his penalty increased at least in one third. All this facts are measures to reduce the criminal behavior.
I would like to call the participation of the senator Magno Malta and Federal Chamber President Michel Temer in order to start thia changes as fast as possible and since now i am here to help.
